First Home Owner's Grant
The First Home Owner's Grant, or the FHOG as it is more commonly known, is a scheme introduced in July of 2000 to offset the effect of the GST on home ownership. It is a national scheme funded by the states and territories and administered under their own legislation.
Currently, under the scheme a one-off grant of up to $7000 is payable to first home owners who satisfy all the eligibility criteria. Remember also, there are often extra incentives for country or regional First Home Buyers. Also we find many people are entitled to concessions and have never made a claim...we can assist. The really big advantage SIGNATURE LENDING can offer is that we can assist you in processing your FHOG to ensure it is available at settlement through your solicitor or bank.
As the grant is administered by each state; so to get the most accurate information it is best to view each State's or Territory's own FHOG Webpage.
